Judging Criterias
Multi-site Operation Store of the Year
Mandatory requirements
10-15 images or a 1-3 minute video of the site, plus a written document
Members who have over 5 facilities are eligible to apply
Information that needs to be submitted
Store name, full location in English and in your local language
Background information including:
Size
Location
History
Key Performance figures
Fire & Safety measurements
and how these changed over time

Judging Criteria
Business Performance
Facts & figures. Key performance indicators like revenue, occupancy, average rental price per unit area, net lettable area, delinquency management, and general business performance.
Location & Build-out
Suitability of the location, buildout design, etc. Any innovation in construction or design
Appearance
The interior design of the store, toilet cleanliness, tools and stationary provided to customers
Security
Access control provided, and what kind of security features are provided to customers
In addition, the judges may request a mystery shop, or organise a personal visit of some or all the finalists to assist them in the judging process, or to verify the information provided.
Independent Store of the Year

Members who have under 5 facilities are eligible to apply

Provide an overview of the marketing campaign, including key performance indicators, and final outcomes

Creativity of the marketing campaign
Has the campaign achieved its key performance indicators such as:
Return on investment
Increment Sales or increased Brand Awareness
Effectiveness
Conversion rate
Other goals and objectives
The challenges that the campaign presented during development or implementation, and how these were overcome.

Manager of the Year
Information that needs to be submitted
Manager name, and store name
Good quality photo of the manager
Background information about the managed store, such as location and size
Supporting evidence for claims, such as sales figures, occupancy rates, etc.
Judging Criteria
Sales Success
How has the manager excelled in generating more sales for the business or overall revenue increases.
Marketing
Any marking ideas that the manager initiates to attract more customers or increase sales.
Management
How does the manager manage fellow staff members, vendors and suppliers.
Personality
What makes the manager special? How does the manager get along with others.
Customer Handling
How does the manager reach when things go wrong, or deal with tricky situations and customers.
Innovative Thinking
What innovations did the Manager introduce and did things differently.
Environmental, Social, and Governance Initiative Award
Mandatory requirements
The initiative must relate to activities conducted within the last 12 months.

Details about the initiatives/ activities/ programme/ project

Judging Criteria
Efforts and resources required to complete the project
Amount of funds raised, or services offered, or energy saved, or social impact, relative to the size of the self storage business
The level of promotion the initiative has generated from the beneficial organisation/ community and the self storage business
In what ways that the project/ programme helped your self storage business in terms of customer attraction, retention, and more.

Technology & Innovation Award

Background information about the business before the innovation
Provide an overview of your initiative, including the circumstances that prompted its development and any case study material.

Not restricted to a specific service/ facility or product. Entries on innovative process, business model, products are accepted
Unique qualities of the initiatives
Benefits that the project provides to your self storage business or customers
How the initiative meets the industry needs
The challenges that the initiative presented during development or implementation, and how these were overcome.
How the initiative reduces costs or increases income.
